A quiet brewery worker climbs a Colorado fourteener to break out of his shell—and finds himself drawn into the ancient world.
There’s a burning-bush moment, but no commandments and no rules handed down—just an ordinary person whose effort, friendships, and persistence take on mythic proportions.
As the climb and the events around it test his sanity and resolve, a personal challenge becomes an encounter with grace as it was before it was named.
Why the name?
“The short answer:
schist happens.
Schist is about layers. Any good story has layers, and forms over time. We’re Colorado based. Take a look around—there are rocks everywhere.
Maybe the landscape itself was getting in on the act: a little subliminal programming from the environment, pushing human creativity toward the screen.
